FTDI Eve screen editor
Hi,
Does anyone know if the FTDI screen editor is compatible with the new NHD-4.3CTP-Shield?
Thank You
Joe

Hi Joe,
You should be able to use the Screen Editor with the Shield.
You would need to select the FT801 for the Device. And under the Export drop down, select the VM801B43 option.0 -
Well I got no where with this display. I'm giving up and scrapping the display.

Were you not able to use the tool or did you have another problem?
This would be our first time working with the eve, and any information we can get to help improve the displays would help as well.0 -
No, got no where with the EVE editor. Have you tried yourself? I have the resistive touch 800.

I personally have not, the engineer who has been working on this is currently on vacation.
I can have him contact you next week.0 -
If he can make the screen editor work I would be interested in the settings needed.

Bump ..Any interest here?

I was able to use the EVE screen editor (version 2.3.4).
Followed the suggestion posted above.
The output sketches are almost error free. Just a few arduino specific tweaks.
My problem with the EVE editor was I needed to add the EVE editor program to the "exception" list in my virus software.
Then the program is stable and very useful!
There is a video on youtube that I followed loosely to add a custom font.

Thanks so CarlW, that video you posted helped so much in solving my problem. What's the latest version of the EVE screen editor?

Hi Nachalan,
FTDI has just released a new Asset Builder Tool that allows you to generate Fonts, convert JPEG images, Video files and Audio into EVE compatible formats.
The new "EVE Asset Manager" tool can be found on FTDI's Website here: https://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities.htm#EVE%20Asset%20Manager
Also, the new "EVE Screen Designer 4.5" tool is available from the same link.

There is no indication from the FTDI documentation on their software that shows if it will support 64 bit Java.
Please see the FTDI contact page for more support on this topic. https://www.ftdichip.com/FTContact.htm
