Engineering Change Notification 10/14/2021
This notice on October 14th, 2021 is to inform you of a change to the following TFT products:
Pin 12 on the display has changed from “No Connect” to “Tearing Effect Output” signal.
The Tearing Effect (TE) output signal allows the user to synchronize the MCU to frame writing.
This feature is useful for applications in which the frame write speed does not match the display’s refresh rate, causing a synchronization issue that results in tearing effect on the screen.
Please refer to page 62 of the ILI9163V datasheet for more details about the TE signal. If you do not plan to use this signal, you may continue to treat pin 12 as a “No Connect” pin.
The new displays will be labeled with Rev1B identifier after the part number.
We understand that every customer’s application is unique, and therefore recommend you test and validate samples of the updated design.
