OLED character display dimming
I had been working with Winstar OLED displays and I could always send a Code 19(dec) to send the yellow characters to half-intensity. Code 23 (dec) restores full intensity. Great for in vehicles at night where standard intensity is too bright for drivers/passengers.
Now I am swapping to Newhaven display modules with my designs. Specifically, the NHD-0420CW-AY3. It does not seem to respond to the dimming codes I had been using. Is there a trick or software command I can use to drop the Newhaven display intensities? I intend to buy rather a lot of these and the answer is important.
I hope that one of the Newhaven engineers can answer this question.

Hi Ian,
The NHD-0420CW-AY3 OLED display uses the US2066 controller/driver.
See page 43 of the US2066 datasheet for the Set Contrast Control command (81h)
This display has 256 contrast steps from 00h to FFh that may be programmed to achieve the brightness levels required.https://support.newhavendisplay.com/hc/en-us/articles/4414485495703--US2066
