R/W signal NHD-C0216CZ-FSW-FBW-3V3
In the data sheet of the NHD-C0216CZ-FSW-FBW-3V3 (NHD-C0216CZ-FSW-FBW-3V3) there is a column R/W. The signal is used for commands "Read Busy flage and address" and "Read data from RAM".
This pin is on the ST7030 controller. But it is not on the 10-pin interface of NHD-C0216CZ-FSW-FBW-3V3.
Does this mean reading from the display is not possible?

Yes, unfortunately with the serial interface the controller's serial data pin is an input only. You would not be able to read from this display.

Thanks for the information.

Therefore the display does not acknowledge a I2C access? On the display data sheet there is nothing mentioned. But the ST7032 LCD Controller datasheet describes this ( https://newhavendisplay.com/content/app_notes/ST7032.pdf page 11+12, Figure 4).

Hi there,
The ST7032 LCD controller is capable of running I2C interface. However, this particular NHD-C0216CZ-FSW-FBW-3V3 display does not have I2C pins brought out from the controller to the user, and only has the serial pins brought out.
Our NHD-0216CiZ models are configured for I2C interface using the ST7032 controller, and has those select pins brought out to the user. Please visit the following link to visit our 'CiZ' models:0
