LED back light flickering
I have an NHD-0420D3Z-FL-GBW-V3. I saw an old post with this issue but it seems like the site is gone. When I set the brightness of the display to anything but 100% (8) the display flickers when I write at a rate over 30 commands per second. It does not even need to be characters, I did a test at 57600 (RS232) just setting the cursor to the same location. With a 200us delay between each character sent and a 200us delay after all 3 characters are sent, any level but full brightness flickers the back-light. This equates to about 1200 commands per second. I have to drop the repetitive commands down to less than 30 per second to get the display to stop flickering especially at the lowest brightness level. The display is getting a solid 5V and I have a 68uf cap right at the terminals. Other than the flickering, all functions work. No strange characters or any miss placed cursors. Just the flickering.
Any way to fix?
Thanks, Terrel

Hello Terrel,
Thank you for your interest in Newhaven Displays!
This is a known issue for this display. It is best to keep the backlight running at 100% (8) during operation.
If you haven't already, make sure you are providing enough current to the backlight. The backlight needs 15mA of current.
Best Regards,
Cody J.
