Had some trouble with my SPI LCD controller.  Followed all the initialization and electrical specs (I have worked with LCD's before) and realized why I was having no success.  The datasheet depicts the mcu SDO line tied to the SDO line of the LCD.  Of course this shouldn't be!  However I thought it may have been a mixup in the naming convention, which is usually resolved by use of MISO, MOSI (master in slave out, master out slave in) naming convention.

I re-wired the mcu SDO line to the LCD SDI line (as it should be) and everything worked fine.  Very happy that the misconnection didn't damage either the mcu or the LCD output drivers.

I suggest a change to the datasheet to fix this error.

  Thanks for your feedback.  We will update the diagram to show SDI to SDO as you correctly pointed out. 
  
  This can easily be confused as it relates to MISO and MOSI connections for a Master and Slave SPI configuration.
