Optical bonding Display to cover glass (dry film bonding)
Hi,
we are planning to use a NHD-4.3-480272EF-ASXN-CTP LCD in one of our
products and want to optically bond it to a protective glass (gorilla glass) using
OCA film and a autoclave (for removing bubbles).
Is that possible or are there any problems associated with dry film bonding ? Can the vacuum in the autoclave damage the LCD ?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
thanks in advance

Hi Gerrit,
A vacuum shouldn't damage the display.
However it does seem that an autoclave does use high heat and possibly steam, both of which could damage the display.
You would want to keep the display dry at all costs, any liquid that forms on the display could damage it.
You would also want to keep the display below 80° C. Higher temperatures can damage the Liquid Crystals and you would have dark spots that form. These would not be reversible.0
