VFD: Vacuum Fluorescent Display
These displays use a self-emitting fluorescent light which allows the technology to handle extreme cold and hot temperatures. They are high contrast displays that can demonstrate multi-segment alphanumeric characters, 7-segment numerals or a dot matrix pattern. VFDs are typically bright, colored green and will perform well in low lighting or direct sunlight environments.
