im2 pin shorted in NHD-2.4-240320AF-CSXP-CTP(ISSUE)
Dear Newhaven Display Support Team,
We are currently integrating your 2.4" TFT display (Part Number: NHD-2.4-240320AF-CSXP-CTP) with an ESP32-C6 microcontroller using the 40-pin interface. We are repeat customers and have successfully used Newhaven displays in our previous projects, but we are encountering a critical hardware issue with this specific model.
The Issue:
We are attempting to configure the display for 4-wire SPI mode. According to the data sheet, the interface mode pins should be set as follows:
IM0 = 0 (GND)
IM1 = 1 (VDD)
IM2 = 1 (VDD)
When we apply this configuration, we experience a dead short circuit. Upon troubleshooting, we discovered that the IM2 pin on the LCD itself is internally shorted to Ground.
This is not isolated to a single unit; we have tested multiple displays from our purchased batch, and every single one exhibits this exact same behavior (IM2 shorted to GND).
Could you please confirm if there is a document errata or a specific way we need to isolate/configure IM2 for SPI mode on this specific panel revision? We cannot proceed with our 4-wire SPI implementation until this is resolved.

Hi Nadheem,
The NHD-2.4-240320AF-CSXP-CTP has recently gone through a revision change from Rev2A to Rev2B. This change added support for 4-wire SPI. It seems like you have received the Rev2A version which only supports 3-Wire SPI. This link will take you to the product transition guide where you can find details regarding the changes.
