NHD-3.5-320240JF-ASXP-CTP - SPI Configuration
AnsweredHi
I am interested in using this display `NHD-3.5-320240JF-ASXP-CTP` in a new project. I have a question since up to now the RGB LCDs I have used didn't have SPI interface.
According to the display datasheet it seems that there some parameters that should be adjusted via SPI. Is there any special configuration required to be sent via SPI? Or all the configurable values (Gamm, VCOM, etc..) already configured via `OTP`?
One other question, is it possible to rotate the screen (image) via SPI configuration?
Thank You

Hi Artur,
The NHD-3.5-320240JF-ASXP-CTP display does allow you to adjust certain parameters over SPI such as timing parameters and display mode setting. However, in most cases, it is not necessary to adjust these registers. The display should be able to be controlled with an RGB controller without any adjustments to the SPI-accessible registers.
The ST7272A IC does not have a built-in "rotate" function, but it should be possible by adjusting the "Display Mode Setting" register.

Sorry for the very late "replay", but the original project was postponed, but now have another project that requires LCD rotation preferably via Hardware, and it works...
The default value seems to be 0xED for factory orientation (register does not seems to support read, only writes), and changing to 0x8D does the trick to rotate 180º.

Hi Artur,
That's good to hear the display rotates properly. If you have any more questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
