Display upgrade compatibitlity

We have been using the NHD-4.3-480272EF-ASXN display in our device.

We would like to upgrade and use the NHD-5.0-800480AF-ASXP display.

The device works correctly when connected to the 4.3 display, but when I connect it to the 5.0 display, nothing shows up, only the dark backlight.

Their pinouts seem to be the same. Are the two displays interchangeable or would there need to be changes to the device to use the 5.0 inch display?

For reference, we are using the TFP401PZP decoder chip. 

How should I proceed?

  Hi Raf,

  Please note that the resolution and timing characteristics of the displays you mentioned are different. To use the new display, you will need to adjust these parameters in your software. If you are using the TFP401PZP DVI/HDMI decoder chip, you can refer to our 5.0" HDMI EDID values for guidance.
