NHD-C0216CiZ-FSW-FBW-3V3 voltage range
I'm planning to interface the NHD-C0216CiZ-FSW-FBW-3V3 to a Nordic Semiconductor device module from Adafruit. The module provides 3.3V and the GPIO is 3.3V as well. Reading the doc for the display it indicates the nominal voltage should be 3.0V and lists 3.3V as maximum. Does this mean maximum operating voltage or maximum before failure? Is there any margin? Would it be safe to interface this directly? Or do I need to limit the voltages of the power and interface to lower it to 3.0V?

Hi Larry,
It is safe to interface this display with 3.3V directly. 3.3V is our maximum recommended operating voltage, but the display will not fail if the voltage is slightly higher. Our recommendation is to consider 3.6V as the absolute maximum voltage.

Thank you for the quick response. And thank you for the good news! That will save me from having to add several components and the extra battery drain! I will go ahead and use a series resistor for the back light to keep it to 3.0v.
I do have another question. How to set up the contrast? There is mention of contrast in the doc but no pin for it or anything in the sample circuit.

Hi Larry,
The contrast on this display is adjustable through the software commands listed below.
We typically use the following values with these commands to initialize the display: 0x55, 0x6D, 0x74
