    Hello,

    NHD-1.8-128160EF-CTXI# only supports a 8‐bit Parallel interface.

    Have a great weekend!

    Hello,

I'm planning to use the NHD-1.8-128160EF-CTXI# on my project.
It's wrtitten in the datasheet to solder directly the LCD connector to the PCB. I'm wondering if it's the only option or if there is a socket I can use to connect the LCD connector.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello!

The LCD connector on NHD-1.8-128160EF-CTXI# needs to be soldered directly to the pcb (via a Hot-bar machine).

If you are interested in a traditional FFC ZIF LCD connector I recommend using the following display:

    NHD-1.8-128160EF-CTXI#-F

    LCD Connector: 24pin 0.5mm FFC connector. Molex P/N: 52435-2471

    Hello Paul,

    Tnanks for the answer.

I'm planning to use the NHD-1.8-128160EF-CTXI#-T because the Touch Panel is available on this device which is not the case with the NHD-1.8-128160EF-CTXI#-F. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Can you please tell me if this is a device of similar size with ZIF connector and Touch Panel controller.

    Regards,
    Zafi.

    Hello Paul,

I'm also looking at a variety of New Haven LCDs for a project. I read that you stated that if a datasheet states the connector should be hot-bar soldered it cannot be used with a FFC ZIF connector. Is this because of an electrical issue or there just aren't surface mount connectors for it? Thanks for your help.

    Best,

    Morning Zafi,

    I recommend using NHD-1.8-128160EF-CTXI#-FT:

    https://newhavendisplay.com/1-8-inch-standard-resistive-tft-display/

Please note this particular display is Non-Stocked and requires a MOQ of 3000 pc.

The MOQ maybe an issue in your case, it might be worth taking a look at our 2.4" Resistive Touch TFT's with a standard FFC ZIF connector (In-Stock):

    https://newhavendisplay.com/2-4-inch-standard-resistive-tft-display/

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Jesse!

Great question, when a display has a Hot-bar connector the flex needs to be soldered directly to the pcb. You will not be able to locate any standard FFC connectors to accommodate this.

There are a lot of benefits for using a direct flex-to-board connection. It saves vertical height, can be more reliable than fine pitch connectors and saves the cost of the connectors.

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for the answer and suggestion. The MOQ is a bit high for my need. Using a NHD-2.4-240320CF-CTXI#-FT could be the best option.

    Regards,
    Zafi.
