NHD-7.0-800480EF-ATXL#-CTP touch controller
Hello,
We bought an NHD-7.0-800480EF-ATXL#-CTP for evaluation. We usually use another TFT with an FT5406 touch panel controller. However, we were not able to get any answer from the I²C controller on the NHD panel.
After inspection, we have seen that the IC on the NHD display has 56 pins and no marking while the FT5406 on our usual display has 68 pins and a clear FT5406 marking. The FT5x06 datasheets indicates that the FT5406 has a 68 pins package.
Do you use some FT5406 in a non standard package or is it a different TP controller?
Thank you,
Alexis

The controller IC on our 7.0" CTP is the FT5406. Are you certain the pinout between your old touch panel and ours is the same? Are you able to run an I2C scan test to see if you can get an ACK from the slave address 0x70? Are you keeping pin 6 (/RESET) pulled HIGH?
Also, although both versions are compatible with one another, the CTP you have of ours is the old model. Attached is a picture of the current model.0 -
Thank you for your answer. We finally could get some answers from the TP, the problem was on our interface board and we were distracted by this strange looking FT5406.
