2.4 TFT LCD Brightness Control

Hello,

I am using NHD-2.4-240320SF-CTXI#-FT1 LCD which has built-in ILI9340 controller. I connected the LCD's backlight LED pins directly to a power source and they are working good (internally biased). I want to control the LCD's brightness through the ILI9340 controller's backlight control registers but am unable to change the brightness level using those registers.

I want to know, can the LCD's backlight be controlled through ILI9340 registers or do I need to control the brightness externally through some circuit.

  The backlight is independent of the TFT controller.  Therefore the latter would be correct; you would need to control the brightness externally.
