    Hello,

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with the display. We do test our capacitive touch panels 100% for functionality before they leave our facility, were the displays purchased from Newhaven or a distributor?

Could you tell me how long the touch panel was working before the upper and lower zones stopped responding? Was the display dropped at all? Was the touch panel’s flex cable subjected to any type of excessive stress/strain when being transported or during testing? Are there any sharp bends or twist on the cable?

Are there more displays you have with this issue? It’s difficult to say where the fault is without having the physical unit here to analyze. I would not recommend taking the unit apart as this will void the warranty. We will certainly help and get to the bottom of the issue.
Could please respond to this post in an email to (techsupport@newhavendisplay.com) we can further assist you.

    Best Regards,

I am having this same issue with one of my 7 inch capacitive touchscreens.  It had been working for several months without any issues, but now the bottom half inch of the screen does not respond to touches.  The screen was housed in a protective enclosure, so I'm fairly certain there was no physical damage to the flex cables.  Nor was the unit dropped or handled roughly.

Any idea what could have happened physically to the screen to cause this behavior?  Would it be possible to purchase just the touchscreen and replace it myself?

    Thanks
