NHD-4.3-480800EF-CTXP# driver question
We are thinking of using NHD-4.3-480800EF-CTXP# for our project.
It has a Driver: HX8369 but apparently no controller.
Exactly how would I reference an x,y position on screen. Do I have to essentially "mask" write through all the pixels on the screen to reach a certain x,y position? If not what is the simplest way to write a pixel to x,y?
Is there any way to skip from one column to the next without having to write the 480 pixels on each column (assuming landscape mode) to get to an x,y position?
Any info would be useful at this point.
The HX8369 is essentially a controller. It is a single chip TFT driver with GRAM, and has a command set similar to that of a controller. (Notice in the datasheet the C in the part number is representative of a built-in controller) Have you looked at the HX8369 datasheet? So it sounds like individual pixels on this display are addressible... unlike the other 4.3" displays which had only a driver but no controller.
Does New Haven plan to keep the NHD-4.3-480800EF-CTXP# in production for a few years? Hopefully it isn't a here today and gone tommorrow type of product.0
You are very welcome. Yes you are correct, each pixel is addressable. This display is a new product, and also currently the only display we offer with IPS technology. We have every intention to keep it in production for at least a few years.0
One more question please.
We intend to use this display in landscape as opposed to portrait mode.
Since this display is IPS, the image quality should not be affected - is that correct?
Is there anything (the glass or whatever) that would prevent or reduce the quality of the image (as seen by a viewer) if seen in landscape as opposed to portrait mode?
You are correct. The orientation does not matter for this display as it uses IPS technology, and has 80 degree viewing angles from all sides.
There is nothing that will reduce the image quality if the display is used in landscape mode.0
