Soldering and mechanical attachment
Hello everyone,
I´m using a NHD-1.8-128160EF-CTXI#-T screen for a development of a portable device.
We are currently designing the electronic board (PCB) and we need information about the mechanical attachment of the screen.
We have seen that it has a couple of holes which are used for this intention.
I need to know what kind of tools or mechanical fastener I need to attach the screen to the PCB.
Hope your answers and advices.
Thank you very much,

The holes on the FPC are used for aligning the board when soldering. They should not be used to mount the display. On the back of the display itself there are two strips of double-sided tape. Peel off the protective strip of the tape and use that to mount your display. Please see the attached pic for the location of the tape strips.

Hello again,
I really appreciate your comments Retheesh_M, you are right, the holes on the FPC are used for aligning when soldering, but since in my design the display will not be mounted on the PCB, I need some information and advices about giving to the FPC stronger attachment, not just with the pads soldered.
My issue is not mounting the display, is related with giving more mechanical security to the FPC along with the soldering pads.
Thank you very much,

In that case you can use plastic standoffs for those two holes to secure the FPC when you install your display

Ok, I´ll try with plastic standoffs.
