Connecting 18bit controler to 24bit display
Please advice, how to correctly connect 18bit RGB microcontroler to 24bit display i.e. NHD-7.0-800480EF-ATXV#-CTP. Should be R0, resp. G0, resp. B0 from microcontroler connected to R0, resp. G0, resp. B0 on display or to R2, resp. G2, resp. B2? Will the lack of bpp affect only color range or even contrast (or brightness) of the display? Thank you very much!

Morning Marsaf,
Great question, you will notice that the LSBs (least significant bits) are tied to ground.
To answer your second question, the lack of bpp will only affect the color depth.
Hope this helps!0 -
I've connected it in a wrong way (R0,G0,B0 from controller to R0,G0,B0 on display, etc.), because correct way (R0,G0,B0 from controller to R2,G2,B2 on display, etc.). And that was the reason, why the display was kind of dull, and it didn't get the maximum backlighting.
thank you very much0 -
Not a problem Marsaf, happy to help!

Is the connection schematic that you attached suitable for NHD-3.5 320240MF ATX tft module ? I will connect the R0,R1,G0,G1,B0,B1 to the GND and R2-R7 to MCU R2-R7 ( B2-B7 to MCU B2-B7 and G2-G7 to MCU G2-G7). Please confirm my connections.

Morning,
Correct, the LSBs (least significant bits) of each color data line will need to be tied to ground when 18-bit RGB interfacing is being used.0
