Newbie question about compatibility of 2.4 inch TFT with a larger TFT
Greetings,
Total newbie here. I'm not an engineer, far from it. But we do have engineers working on a new product set for us.
We'll be using this screen for a portable product:
NHD-2.4-240320CF-CSXI#-F
Here's my question - is there a larger screen that would be directly compatible with this one? In other words, since we're using the same circuit board and code for both our portable and benchtop form factors, could we use a larger display in the benchtop with no changes to the code?
I'm thinking that a 3.5 inch screen for the benchtop might be nice, with 320 x 240 pixels. The portable screen uses a "ZIF Connection Style" connector.
Does anyone have any idea if this will work, or is there extensive recoding required to go from a small screen to a larger one, even if the pixel count is the same?
Thank you very kindly in advance!
Brian

Hi Brian,
Unfortunately, the difference between the 2 sizes of displays are great enough that both electrical and software changes would be required. The 3.5" TFT includes a 24-bit parallel interface with a 54 pin cable and the 2.4" TFT includes an 8-bit/16-bit Parallel Interface with a 40 pin cable.
