I'm designing a tool that will use the above display, My question is there a method to selecting the value of the capacitor that is connected in between pin 9 and 10 of the display? The table on page 4 of the data sheet gives a range of 0.47uF to 2.2uF.

  Any cap within that range will be suitable.  For your reference, we typically use a 1.0µF cap for this.
